Pingmaebawi District

Pingmaebawi dolmen district has 133 dolmens distributed along the hillside connected to the Bogeomjae hill from Jidong village at Daesin-ri, Chunyang. Among those dolmens, Pingmaebawi dolmen is the largest one, located on a high land. It is a super-size capstone which is 7 meters long and 4 meters high and weighs over 200 tons. The lower surface of the capstone was polished there are five upright stones and empty space is arranged under it.
Pingmaebawi was named bacause that stone was picked up and thrown and many handed down folktales including Mago grandma story and Janggunbawi story are associated with the story. In particular, it is said that one would get married if he or she could successfully place a stone by throwing inside the hole in the upper part of the rock.
